Known as ‘Local Heroes’ in the area, The IGA Supermarket in Warren has donated $4570.24 to local community groups and charities as a result of its IGA Community Chest and associated programs over the last year.
Major beneficiaries from the Warren Supa Iga Community Chest include $2285.12 donated to The Warren Pre-School, St Mary’s P & F receiving $1142.56 and Warren Central School receiving $1142.56.
The store is one of the IGA supermarkets in Australia, which has helped lift the IGA Community Chest donations to $42 million donations which have been distributed through out local community groups, sports clubs, schools, worthy causes and charities throughout Australia to date.
Commenting on the success of the program in Warren Supa IGA, Kevin from IGA said: “ We are delighted with the result of this year’s IGA Community Chest.
“On behalf of IGA and the local charities and
community organisations involved, these generous donations are possible because of the support from our customers.
“By shopping at our IGA supermarkets, our customers have helped all of our stores help the local community, and we thank them for assisting us in achieving this milestone.”
