Warren Community Homes situated in Readford Street has unit vacancies with eligible residents encouraged to apply.
The complex consists of 12 one-bedroom units in six blocks of two, each unit suitable for a single person or a couple. Under the constitution, those applying for a place at an aged care facility must meet strict criteria. Applicants must be able to care for themselves and preference is given to low income, long term residents, previous residents wishing to return to town, or those who have a connection with Warren.
All units have air conditioning and heating, fittings in the bathroom/ laundry and kitchen suitable for disabled residents, as well as a security system. Covered car spaces are also available. All units also have a small individual garden area and the whole complex is set in well cared for gardens. It is situated in an area close to the library and shopping centre. Rent is very reasonable with rent assistance available to those that qualify.
Warren Community Homes are managed by a committee of voluntary local citizens headed by chairperson Trish Oriel, and the committee makes every endeavour to provide a safe, caring, comfortable and convenient home for the aged.
