Gardens blooming

25 Jun, 2009 09:46 AM
Nevertire Garden Club, in conjunction with Nevertire Progress Association, obtained a grant from the CMA for $2000 to undertake a planting project of gardens at the truck stop opposite the Nevertire Hotel and Café.

The recent rain has provided a much-needed boost to the plants and they are now firing ahead. The Garden Club was unsuccessful with a grant application for funding to provide seating in the long garden bed opposite the café but did obtain one of the benches from the Nevertire School which can be modified and will also provide a shade structure for the convenience of travellers. Nevertire Garden Club will continue to maintain these gardens on an ongoing basis.

o Nevertire is looking very pretty thanks to the efforts of Garden Club members such as Maria Kinsey and Ailsa Waters.
