Mr Hosking said the information day would cover a range of issues relevant to grazing in floodplain and wetlands country.
“The day will include discussions on soil biology and soil carbon as well as different approaches to profitable grazing, fencing, watering systems and succession planning.
“A highlight of the day will be a practical session on identifying key land health monitoring points; the ‘On Track Land Health Measures’ session.
“Central West CMA’s Neroli Brennan will also attend the information day to answer questions and share her experience on soil management.
“Mark Gardner of Vanguard Business Services will facilitate the day, which will include a visit to some soil pits in the morning, followed by lunch and discussions on various aspects of grazing practice in the afternoon.
“We are also encouraging members of the local community to let us know what they would like to learn about or gain further insight on, so we’ll be hoping to hear good ideas on the day,” Mr Hosking said.
Landholders and managers with property in wetland and floodplain areas of the Macquarie Marshes and nearby areas are invited to attend.
Numbers will be limited to 20 participants. Participants are to meet at 9am at the Carinda Hall, with the day planned to finish by about 3pm.
