Junior cricket gets boost

25 Feb, 2010 12:27 PM
In November 2009 the Commonwealth Bank that has supported cricket for more than 23 years launched their inaugural Grants for Grassroots Cricket program to local cricket clubs across Australia.

Local cricket clubs were invited to participate via an online application form. The CBA had an overwhelming response with more than 1400 clubs applying for one of the grants.

Jenny McKay former treasurer of Warren local junior cricket club took up the challenge and applied for one of the grants on behalf of the Warren Junior Cricket Club and was lucky enough to be a winner.

Each grant includes $1000 cash and $750 worth of equipment, including a shade marquee, two market umbrellas, water bottles and field markers.

The local CBA branch has also donated a one-day cricket shirt signed by Mike Hussey (Mr Cricket) which the club will be raffling.

The shirt will be on display at Woolys Bottle Shop where you can obtain tickets to win a great prize.

The Commonwealth Bank is committed to supporting cricket at a grassroots community level and we are proud that we can support

The Warren Local Junior Cricket in this way through this worthwhile program.
