Three weeks of the 2010 Auscott summer golf competition have now been played and the results of each week are as follows.
In week one the event was a four-person ambrose sponsored by the Warren Golf Club. The winners were the new team in the competition - Mitch Quigley, Angus McKay, Trevor O’Malley and sub Ed Nixon with a very good score of 34 3/8. Only 3/8ths behind them were Dennis Foodey, Marg Davis, Allan Wilde and Howard Greentree (the old leftie).
Week two’s event was an individual stroke sponsored by the Lady Golfers.
The winner was Ross Faichney with a red-hot score of nett 33. Runner-up was Joey Hunt with another great score of nett 34.
The unlucky golfer of the day was Bruce Cosgrove who was only one shot behind with a nett 35 and didn’t win a trophy, but he did manage to carry his team to victory especially as his team- mate Jarrard Noonan had one of the worst scores of the round.
Ross, Joey and Bruce all lost lots of shots off their handicaps.
Week three was a four-ball aggregate sponsored by SPAR supermarket.
The winners were the new boys again with Scott Rope (super sub) and Mitch Quigley blitzing the field with a combined total of 58 points.
Ropey had 31 points and Mitch 27 so they both lose shots.
Runners-up were Trevor O’Malley and Angus McKay (in the same team) with a score of 50 points.
All players must check the book each week for their weekly handicap as you lose shots when you play under the rating of nett 44 or 25 stableford points. You gain one shot back if you play over the rating.
Next week we will publish all results and an up-to-date running tally in the actual team competition.
At this stage there are some undefeated teams and some that haven’t had a win, so the scores will be interesting.
Please captains, make sure your team members are all financial as we will be deducting points next week if they aren’t and we really don’t want to do this.
