Second choice was Viewed although everyone would go for this due to Bart Cummings. The last time I picked a winner in the Melbourne Cup was Rain Lover in 1968, who also won the next year. No reason just liked the name. Needless to say I did not put a bet on, being younger back then I did not know my way around a TAB.

Next Thursday is November 5 and being the first Thursday in November is also the first Thursday date for the lady bowlers’ competition, sponsored by the many business houses in Warren that support us. If not enough ladies attend we will compete in the men’s game. Our monthly meeting will follow at about 12.30pm. Lady bowlers please attend this meeting as we have a lot to cover. Welcome back to our treasurer Linda Kendall, who has a new grandchild, Jamison Anne Kennedy. Parents Amanda and Justin and big sister Alexandra are delighted. Congratulations to Linda and Jim.

Rumour has it that another lady bowler has returned,Sandra Tippett along with husband Geoff, from their trek around Australia.

No grandchildren noted, so Linda gets the ‘Grandma of the Year Bowlers Award’.
