Armed with 11 competitors and two members from our cheer squad (Courtney Marks and Milly Coffee) the Warren Amateur Swim Club headed to Dubbo for the Dubbo City Swimtech carnival.
The competition was tough but proved no problem for Warren, with Bella Noonan picking up first in breaststroke, butterfly, backstroke, and second in freestyle and 11th in under 9 years 50m freestyle. Jessica McCarthy was consistent in all her races getting fourth in breaststroke, freestyle, butterfly and back. Brittany Marks was fifth in butterfly, sixth in backstroke, eighth in breaststroke and freestyle, against the 9-year-olds 15th in 50m freestyle. Hannah McCarthy swam well against the stiff competition placing sixth in backstroke, eighth in freestyle and 11th in breaststroke. Libby Noonan fought hard all day to win third in backstroke, and fourth in breaststroke, freestyle and butterfly. Sarah Coffee placed sixth in butterfly, ninth in breaststroke, 10th in freestyle, and 11th in backstroke. Joseph Marks tried hard all day taking home second in butterfly, fourth in backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, eighth in 12/under individual medley and 14th in 13/under 100m breaststroke. Maggie Noonan achieved some fantastic times and placed second in butterfly, third in freestyle, fifth in breaststroke and seventh in backstroke. Matthew Marks placed 1st in breaststroke, 3rd in 12/under individual medley, and 13/under 100m breaststroke, fourth in freestyle and butterfly. Imogen Waters swam against a fantastic group of swimmers and still managed to pick up 13th in breaststroke, 14th in freestyle, 10th in butterfly and 20th in 12/under individual medley.
Hadley Coffee was in fine form placing first in individual medley, second in 50m fly and 100m fly and freestyle, sixth in 100m freestyle, and eighth in breaststroke.
The day was great for all and people travelled from as far as Orange, Newcastle and Windsor to take part in this large and competitive event.
