Swimmers travel west for carnivals

The Warren Amateur Swimming Club travelled to Cobar’s newly-built swimming pool for their annual carnival on Saturday before making the trip to Bourke on Sunday to compete in their inter-town carnival.

Cobar results included Teah Stephens second in 100m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 100m breaststroke, 100m freestyle and third in 50m back, 50m breast and fourth in 200m free. Craig Field was first in 100m breast, 50m breast, second in 100m back, 50m back, 50 fly, 200m individual medley, 100m free, 50 free, third in dash for cash and fourth in 200m free. Thomas Field gained a record first place in 100m back, record first in 50m back, record first in 50m fly, first in 50m free, 100m free, second in dash for cash, 100m breast, 50m breast and third 200m free. Bella Noonan came first in back, breast, and record first in free and third in fly. Brittany Marks was second in back, third free, fourth breast and fifth in fly. Libby Noonan was record first in 33m fly, 50m back, and 50m free, and second in breast. Will Fuller came fourth in free, breast and back. Joseph Marks was second in fly, breast and third in back and free. Maggie Noonan swam second in breast, third in back, fourth in fly and free. Matthew Marks was also a record first in 50m breast, second in 100m breast, third in fly, back and free, and fifth in dash. Imogen Waters gained second in back, fly, breast, free, and third in dash for cash. Cameron Fuller was fourth in fly, fifth in breast, eighth in free, and ninth in back. Edwina Waters came fourth in fly, fifth in breast and free, sixth in back and eighth in the dash for cash. Bindy Fuller swam fifth in back and sixth in fly, breast and free.

Bourke results included Matthew Marks first 100m breast, 50m breast, 200m IM, second free, back, third 200m free, fourth fly and 100m breast. Joseph Marks came first in fly, second back, breast, free, fourth 200m free, 100m breast, seventh dash, eighth 100m free. Brittany Marks was third fly, fourth back, fifth free and 10th dash. Courtney Marks won the dash event. Bella Noonan was first dash, fly, back, breast and free. Libby Noonan came first back, free, second dash and seventh breast. Maggie Noonan was second breast, fourth back, fifth fly, 100m breast, sixth free, 200m IM and 10th dash. Edwina Waters was fourth fly, fifth breast, sixth 100m breast, back and seventh free and dash. Imogen Waters came fourth in fly, 100m breast, back, dash and fifth 200m free, breast, 100m free, 50m free and IM. Thomas Field was first back, second open dash, breast, free, third IM, 100m free, dash, fly, 200m free. Craig Field was first in fly, third back, free, fourth 200m free, dash and 100m free. Teah Stephens finished the day with third fly, back, open dash, fourth 100m free and fifth 200m free.

Overall it was a hot and tiring weekend and a very quiet trip home.
