Foster home abuse apology considered

THE Federal Government is considering an official apology to people who were abused in state-run institutions such as foster homes.

A Senate committee begins hearings today on how to structure potential compensation based on recommendations from two Senate committees that heard from people, particularly child migrants, who were mistreated in the 1950s and 1960s.
